Happy Weekend Everyone!

Happy Friday!

It's a beautiful brisk fall day in Maryland! The weather is definitely getting cooler. Last night I turned on the fireplace for the first time. It was so warm and cozy, i think we will be using it a lot this winter. Last night Jen, George, Curt and I all went to Rock Bottom to watch the Redskins game while our awesome mom stayed at our house to watch the kids. We weren't gone too long but it was nice to get out of the house for a little while. 

This morning Honey decided he wanted to ride with us in the car to drop off Bella at school. He was shivering the whole time because he was thinking he was going to the Dr.'s. Poor guy

Vivi very tired and ready to go back to bed.

When the girls wake up from their naps we will probably head out to Barnes and Noble to get a Disney movie if we can find one. Bella has been asking me to buy her Beauty and the Beast but I am pretty sure its in the Disney vault. I don't understand why they do that! I mean dont they realize we have young girls that are dying to know what this Belle lady is all about! 

After I hope to pick up dinner somewhere in Bethesda. Tomorrow will be a long day so we must get some sleep tonight! I've been having nightmares the past two nights from that darn movie "The Conjuring." In one of my dreams George was being strangled by curtains and last night I had a terrible dream that my neighbor's cleaning lady was hanged. It's awful please dont watch that movie!!

Tomorrow we are having some of Curt's friends coming into town so we will be hanging out with them during naps. It should be a fun day!

7 day Body Cleanse? We'll see how this goes...

This weekend was lots of fun but I think Curt and I thought we were in our early twenties and could stay up late, which we can't. Normally we are in bed by nine o' clock. 

Friday was pretty low key. Curt came home early so we all got in the car and headed to Barnes and Noble. We promised Bella a new video so we looked around and decided on Mulan after much debate. Bella kept saying, "I cant believe I found this!" It was pretty adorable and she sounded so grown up. We saw the Christmas tree right outside of the store and took a few pix. Bella looks so happy and I can tell this will be a very memorable year for us all. Bella is so excited to have Santa come visit her. She is already listening to Christmas music on my phone and is reading Twas the Night Before Christmas daily :)

Afterwards we went to our Friday hang out at Rio Grande. It's probably the most kid friendly restaurant in Bethesda. Here is a picture of Vivi sucking on a lime. We thought it was pretty precious.

On Saturday we went to Clemyjontri park in Va for the morning to meet up with one of my friends. Danielle has a great website called Tiny Trots and it is very helpful for moms in the washington/va/md area. There are lots of places she lists on her site of events and activities happening at the time and it's really useful. I thought that was a great idea to make a website that is so easy to use so you dont have to search and search on the internet for something to do with your kids. 

Later in the day we met up with friends of Curt's at The Barking Dog while the kids were napping then got the same babysitter to come watch the girls after bedtime. It was nice getting together with friends and having adult beverages but we definitely paid for it the next day. We went to bed way too late. We don't do that often but even when we do we hate ourselves for it. 

I decided to do a 7 day body cleanse that I found at Whole Foods today. Maybe I will blog about it to let you how it goes. It's a whole lot of pills so I am a little nervous but I feel like my body needs it! Especially after this past weekend. 

I love my job

It's 7:40pm right now and I just looked at myself in the mirror for what feels like the first time. I look like a mix of a gym bunny and Warren Jeff's sixth wife because my hair is doing a strange poof thing at the top. 

Did I mention I love my job? Well, I do! I love waking up to sweet sleepy eyed angels and I love spending my time with them and watching them grow. I feel like Vivi is really really growing a lot recently. She is on the cusp of learning how to walk on her own but she is taking her time. I love everything about this girl and I love her even more now that she is not teething at the moment and is sleeping eleven hours straight. I took the girls to the park today after naps and Vivi was having the time of her life. She has mastered the slide and now wants to crawl up it and go down the slide all by herself. It makes me sad seeing my baby grow up and want to do things on her own but I am also very grateful that she is able to be so smart and strong. Vivi I love how you eat everything I make for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love how you smile and laugh all the time. I love how you come looking for me when you want to be held and cry if I walk past you.  I love how you come give us hugs on our legs when Daddy and I are eating dinner. I love that you watch movies with Bella and pay attention so closely. I love that you put up with Bella when she sits on your lap or bothers you. I love how you stick your hands underneath yourself when you give us hugs and want to snuggle. You are such a sweet baby and I wish you could remain my sweet baby forever. Please stop growing.

I found this little monkey at the top of the stairs while I was already outside putting Bella in the stroller yesterday. So much for baby proofing.

Bella I love you too. Today you made me so happy and proud to be your mommy. You make me laugh every single day and you put a smile on everyone's face. I love that you are in a Disney girlie phase and when you do something great you put your arms out like Rapunzel when she is singing the last note of her song. I love that I can already see the maternal insticts in you when you feed, clothe and carry your baby. I love that you sing all the time. I love that you love to learn. I love that you would rather stay at home with me than go to school. I love that you love to eat fruit and vegetables. I love that you love to run. I love that you love your "Vivsta." I love that you love your friends and your family. I love how you say things twice when you love them like, "jen jen" or "move move" (movie), blank blank (blankie). I love that you hold Vivi's hand in the car when she is sad. I love all of you.

Sick day

Bella took a sick day today...again. She has been sick now for over two months, pretty much the week after she started school she came down with a cold that refuses to leave. I feel so bad for her she is constantly blowing her nose and coughing and it makes me sad. I just want it to be gone already. We finally got her on an antibiotic 2 weeks ago but it really didn't work so I am taking her back to the dr. today to see what they say. Taking two kids to the dr is never easy. I pray this is the last time for awhile!

We have an atlas "allison" that she reads religiously. We ask her where a state is and she uses a q-tip as her pointer. 

Sunday Funday

We had a good friend of Curt's come over to see the girls and to watch the Redskins game yesterday. Clint worked with Curt in the past and they became close friends. Clint is such a good guy and has such a good heart. I hope he is coming over for years to come. He is so good with kids and Im sure he will be an amazing daddy when the time comes. 

I made butternut squash soup and brats for our early dinner. Im in love with butternut squash soup, I think I could eat it daily. Afterwards, we went across the street to my parents house. My sister Jen her husband George, baby Romeo, my other sister Travis, and my niece Brooke were all over there watching the game. It's nice every Sunday we have been getting together for dinner there. My mom made soup and Travis made chili so there was tons of food all around! The kids had a blast playing the piano, listening to music and dancing. Here are some pictures below...

Today my mother in law is going to have surgery on a hernia she has had for awhile so we are keeping her in our prayers.

Hello November!

This weekend is flying by as usual. I never want my weekends to end. I love having Daddy home to help out with the kiddos and it's nice to have him around as well. It's just refreshing to wake up in the morning and not have to rush around. This morning we went to the pancake house and stuffed our hungry little faces. Everything tasted so good and hit the spot on this chilly morning. Especially my coffee with french toast! Vivi was so happy eating everything off of her plate and Bella of course would rather drink her breakfast. They make fresh squeezed orange juice right in front of you! We should come here more often!

On Friday night we decided to stay in. I ordered "chin chang" for Bella and Vivi also known as Chinese food. That's how Bella has said Chinese food for about a year now. Then we put the kiddos to bed and Curt picked up take out from one of our favorite places Penang in Bethesda. It's Malaysian food and it's amazing! I always order the same thing - Kari mee and Curt orders the black pepper beef. Afterwards we watched The Conjuring and we were scared to death. I love scary movies, I love them even more when they are based on a true story. It was so freaky, I highly recommend it if you love being scared but don't watch it by yourself! 

Saturday was amazing. I went to get my eyes checked which wasn't so amaxing but after that I headed over to my mom's salon BCC total body and got my hair washed, and got a mani/pedi. I haven't had one in awhile so it was nice to pamper myself. It's so hard making time to do things for yourself when you are a mom but I think it's so important to step away for a few hours when you are able. It's refreshing and I think it's healthy for our sanity! We miss our babies while we are gone and when we come home it's like your body and mind is ready for anything! I know Curt missed me but I think it's also good for him to spend time with the girls. 

When I got home after their naps we went to a friend's house in Virginia. We visited one of Bella's school friends. The girls really enjoyed themselves and it was nice to get to know new people outside of our Bethesda circle. Their home was lovely and I really loved how they kept re-filling my glass with champagne. All in all a great Saturday!

So Vivi was The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Bella was the butterfly! 

It was really an exhausting night! Today should be a holiday for parents. We quickly fed the kids dinner last night, rushed to put costumes on and then ran out the door before it got too late. Vivi's costume was just too small on her and we couldn't even strap her in her stroller because it was one whole piece kind of like a sleep sack. Anyways Curt ended up holding her the whole evening. We went trick or treating which of course was so much fun. Bella loved every minute of it and did a great job saying "trick or treat!" "Happy Halloween!!" and she said "thank you." It's really an overwhelming night for these kids when they are so young. I think a bit overstimulating for two year olds but she was a trooper. I mean come on, bright lights, scary noises, scary people in costumes, eating candy, staying up past bedtime. It's totally worth it in the end and I know she will be talking about Halloween for months.

This has nothing to do with Halloween but I happened to stop by Starbucks this morning and I was handed this! Yes, we are in the holiday season people! Cheers! Ding!!!
