Weekend before Christmas

It's been awhile since I've blogged but I feel like I never have a minute to myself because the kids have been so sick. This past week I began to get sick so I went to the Dr. on Friday and she prescribed me the z-pack too! That is three out of four in our household within two weeks!! I am starting to feel better so I hope by Christmas I am 100%!

This weekend we did some Christmas shopping for the kids. We think they will have a pretty great Christmas! We alsk did a whole lot of resting at home. We only went out once as a family to the container store. Both of the girls ran around and got lots of attention while we were there afterwards we went to Baja Fresh and picked up dinner. Last night Curt and I watched a movie then went to bed....exhausted!

This morning the girls seemed much better. Thank goodness!!! I still have to take them back to the dr tomorrow for a check up but we look pretty good!
We ate pancakes for breakfast and played in the basement. Curt ran some errands in the morning then we put the kids down for a nap. The Redskins were playing the Cowboys at naptime so I knew they were going to lose. I thought it would be so relaxing and fun if I went to the movies. This was probably the third time I went to the movies by myself and I didn't mind it at all. Sometimes it's really nice to do things on your own for a little bit. I went to see 12 Years a Slave. It was AMAZING. I cried like a baby throughout the whole movie but it was so good. It was such an eye opener. It was gruesome, sad, truthful, real and scary. It made me sad to think that I may have had family long ago who owned slaves. I think it's a film that everyone in America must see because we need to know how things really were.
I came back home to my family full of love, happiness and just being grateful to be on this earth in 2013 with my family. We are so lucky to have the things that we have today and we take them for granted...little things that are big things like our freedom.

Sick sick sick sick sick babies

What we have been doing the past two weeks...a whole lotta nothin.'

Bella has pretty much missed school for the whole month of Decmeber and before that she missed 16 days total! Things at the Cannon household are not so bueno. I could really use a long vacation by myself right about now. Bella now has walking pneumonia but actually seems like she is doing a little better today! The Dr. changed prescriptions for her and put her on the z pack. I really hope she is doing better in a few days. It would be nice if she were healthy on Christmas.
Vivian is sick too surprise surprise. I am waiting to hear back from the dr on whether or not they will be putting her on an antibiotic. They gave her a nose culture test yesterday so we will see. She is pretty sick with a nasty cough and a nose that runs constantly.
I am starting to feel like I am coming down with a cold too but I think my body is trying to fight it off. I feel run down at night and in the morning but pretty good throughout the day.

Dear Lord please get us healthy! I am so tired of cold after cold after cold.

Pictures from my iphone lately

Good morning!! We lasted one day cold and runny nose free then yesterday Bella came down with a cold and a fever...ugh. It is literally never ending around here. I think I have aged this year because I never sleep!!!! Curt has been fighting off a cold for three weeks then this past weekend he came down with a bad cough and sore throat. Luckily he ran to the dr and they gave him a Z pack aaaaallalalalalala those things are the best! Luckily, I have been cold free!
Curt most likely handed his cold down to Bella. Poor baby was coughing all night long and there's only so many things we can give her at that age. She was still full of energy this morning and all day yesterday, so much that I had to remind her to calm down and not use up so much of her energy!
Here are some pictures from the past few days...it's been a little crazy at the Cannon household!

Sad few days

Well my grandmother passed away on Sunday at 4:10pm Honduran time. I was downstairs playing with the girls and fiddling with our new T.V. I came upstairs to check my phone and she was gone.

Mama had a lot of issues going on throughout the last few weeks up to the day she died. She had alzheimer's, her pancreas, kindney's, intestines, gallbladder and heart were all failing. My aunts and uncle were all so upset but they knew what they had to do. Everything in her body was shutting down so they had to pull the plug within five minutes after they pulled the plug she was gone. Everyone in Honduras is there for her so we are happy about that but all the grandchildren are not there which makes us all sad. I wish I could have said goodbye to her and given her a hug and kiss. We all have little children so it would be impossible for us to fly down immediately but atleast our aunt and uncle have each other. It's been a sad few days for me but I know she is happy where she is and I know God will take care of her in heaven.

We were all very close to my grandma. We were at her house weekly growing up. We loved to go to her house she lived near a creek and we would always go play with the fish in the creek and explore. My grandma was an amazing cook she was always in the kitchen making us something. She would also always have cookies for us when we would visit. Last night I was reading a Christmas story to Bella and a family was looking at their nativity set. It reminded me of my grandma's nativity and how she always put a cotton ball over baby Jesus until Christmas she would take it off. My grandmother loved each of us so much. I hope to remember little things about her and write them down so I dont forget so I can share them with my children. Bella was able to spend a lot of time with her as an infant. Mama never met Vivi but my mom always told her so much about her and she wanted to meet her so badly.

We will miss you Mama you will always be in our hearts and in our minds. We love you more than you will ever know!

Your great grandmother "mama"

My grandma "mama" and my grandpa "papa" have lived in Honduras for most of their lives. Mama decided that she wanted to live in America in the 1970's so she moved to DC with her children. Papa came here as well and started working for my Dad's Elevator company after my parents got married. They moved to Maryland and lived here for most of my life. When they retired they moved back to Honduras where they wanted to be together. About eight years ago mama got cancer but fought it. She has been very ill ever since and has alzheimer's disease. As of right now she is very ill and my family is worried she may not make it this month or maybe not even this week. She is almost 80 years old on Dec. 13th, I pray that she makes it till then. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and now she has pneumonia. Her body is strong and she is still communicating with the family.
My uncle Michael and my Aunt Emma is there with her now. My Aunt Jami is on her way today and my mom is leaving tomorrow morning. My other Aunt Sally who lives in California is leaving tomorrow. My cousins and I are all relieved that our aunts and moms are on their way to support her and just be there for her to keep her strong and figure out what to do next. We want her to get strong enough to leave Honduras and get to a hospital in the states for obvious reasons. If you are reading my blog I would be grateful if you would pray for her and recovering from this.

Christmas decorating galore!

I have been so busy decorating the house and getting it in Christmas order as well as taking care of two little girls so the blog has been on the back burner. We got our tree up and decorated it half way. I keep trying to wait for Curt to come home early so we can all decorate it together but he has been working so late that it's been impossible. I think I might just put a few more ornaments on the tree and leave the rest of the bulbs off. We can't put fragile ornaments on the bottom for obvious reasons and it's already looking a little top heavy!

I bought the girls plastic ornaments the other day and they were a Godsend. I kept thinking about women/mother's when there weren't plastic bulbs and how much cleaning up they probably had to do. It makes me very thankful to live in 2013! Bella was swatting them on the tree and laughing. Vivi was taking them off the tree and throwing them. After they were all hung up Bella quickly took them all off and started over again. I mean these poor ornaments took a beating, Curt even found one that was broken at the end of the night! These girls are hysterical I love watching them!

Taking Christmas decorations out!

Not the best picture but hey we went to go get a tree yesterday!

Curt spent most of the weekend decorating the outside of the house while we all sat around watched movies, played and ate lots of leftovers. It was a good weekend!

Today I woke up with lots of energy so I spent most of the morning cleaning out the storage room, putting Thanksgiving and other fall decorations away and started taking out all of our Christmas boxes. This time of the year is so exciting I love having one holiday after the next! We put the lights on the tree and tomorrow we will decorate it with the kids. Maybe tomorrow Bella and I will make some paper ornaments. It also might be a good idea to get some plastic ornaments so we aren't cleaning up glass everyday.
These sweetie's are always holding hands in the car and it makes my heart melt.

Vivi's new words today are water-"wa wa" & "ho ho ho"
  Too cute
