Anniversary and Birthday weekend!

It felt like a long weekend! Thursday we had our 5th Anniversary. Curt came home from work a little early so he took the kids to the park while I finished up his gift. I got him a beautiful frame with a picture of us from our wedding day and next to it was our invitation. I also blew up a big family portrait of us that I have been meaning to do for about a year! Afterwards we took the kids out for pizza since it felt like a Friday, came home opened gifts and had some ice-cream. Curt is a sweetie, he got me a journal. I first thought does he actually think I have time to write? Then I opened it up and there was a note from him that said he has been meaning to get me this for awhile but kept forgetting. When we first started dating he would come over to my house and wait until I fell asleep then he would wrote me a note in a small note pad I had on my desk and I would wake up to a special surprise every morning. I always thought it was so sweet and romantic. So now he got me a new book that he can start writing me notes in on the mornings he leaves early to go to work and I don't see him till dinner.
Isn't that all girls want? Sweet and romantic gifts. We don't need lavish things to make us truly happy.

On Friday for my 32nd birthday I came down with a little cold so we stayed in and got some Chinese food for dinner and relaxed then had some cake and ice-cream :)

On Saturday I was feeling a little better thank goodness bc we had tickets that Curt got us for a cruise along the Potomac. We had dinner on the cruise and we had lots of fun together.

On Sunday I made a huge breakfast for my parents and we spent the day at the pool then had a big dinner there.

Overall we had a great anniversary weekend and I had a great birthday spending it with my family :)

The smallest apple pie I have ever seen.

Drive to New York

My best friend from college is getting married tomorrow and I am finding myself writing at 11:30 at night before bed. I am usually in bed at 9:00 or 10:00 at the latest but hey it's a wedding! I was just thinking about my day with my husband. We drove for six hours in the car together and it was so pleasant to have time alone with him to talk about things we needed to talk about but never really have time because the kids are cutting us off or just because we don't have time in general. Today we sat in the car, we laughed, we were self deprecating and we had fun with each other. I really miss my husband sometimes. I miss that we don't have the time we used to have together just one on one. I love him with all my heart and soul and I feel so lucky to have him as my husband and the father of my two beautiful children. I love our conversations and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else in the world for six hours straight. We didn't argue once, we didn't get annoyed or frustrated even when we were sitting in bumper to bumper traffic and were almost late to the rehearsal. I honestly think we were just happy to have some alone time on the road with out any worries or any children to look after.
I miss my girls already but sometimes it is really nice to have time away to recharge our batteries and reconnect.
That's all. Goodnight

Sunday at Church

We decided to go to church today. We do try to go whenever we don't have anything scheduled but it's been a very hectic summer so we probably haven't been to church in two months eeeeee that sounds bad.
We got the girls dressed, played outside for a bit and watched a new neighbor move in. Got snacks and water then got in the car. I am always hopeful when we go to church that it will be a good successful trip but Curt is a little hesistant but never says no. He knows he wants the girls to grow up going to church, have morals and believe in God.
We started off pretty well they sat down for a few minutes quietly. Then they started getting bored. Vivian has lots of energy- energy like a boy has...never ending. She was going up and down our pew flipping through pages in the books, flirting with men behind us. Then Curt and I catch her smacking a woman on the back. (She likes to play a game with us where she sneaks behind us then pokes and or hits us and we pretend to be scared). Meanwhile I look over at Bella  and she asks in a loud voice "where is the real Jesus?" We lasted at church for about a half hour which isn't too bad but thought we better leave before we make more people angry.
We took them to eat brunch :)
They are pancakes and were happy little clams!
Curt and I thought maybe we need a few more months for Vivi to act a little better in church. We think November will be our goal. Sorry God.

Fourth of July weekend

Last weekend we celebrated the 4th at my parents house and then the following day we headed to Pennsylvania to visit Curt's parents and his brother and sister for a family reunion. It was lots of fun to spend time with everyone for the 4th of July but by Sunday I was exhausted and spent most of the day in bed with a headache. I think I probably was a little dehydrated or maybe had too much sun and too many pickles. Here are some pictures from our crazy weekend!
Cake I made for the 4th at home! It was gone within a few hours!

Spray Park in Silver Spring!

This morning I was on my phone trying to find another fun and close activity to do with the kids. My goal is going to one new place every week this summer and so far so good! We got in the car around 9:45am and headed to Silver Spring. The girls had their snacks while I did a little shopping before we headed to the spray park. It's hard not to walk into an H&M and a DSW when I hardly ever go shopping. Picked up a new dress for my growing bump and some new shoes for one of my best friend's weddings in August. Bella picked up some new boy short undies and a cute shirt for Romeo and we were off. Bella has always been the one who hates being in the stroller so now that she is getting older I am fine with letting her walk around the shops with me. Vivi on the other hand is the complete opposite she loves being in the stroller and never complains. Right when she saw the spray park she started wanting out though!
We had a great time, Bella had fun getting wet and Vivi eventually warmed up to the fountains but it took her some time. We will definitely go back, especially since Daddy is right around the block and met us for lunch!
Here are some pictures I took of the girls...
Vivi only ate bread and hummus for lunch.

MIA because I am pregnant!!!

Things have been rough the past three months. I found out that I was pregnant three days before leaving to go on vacation to Mexico! It was relaxing that is for sure but not at all how I expected it to be.
Two days before our vacation Bella found Curt's passport and wanted "the duck" which was the bald eagle so she tore out the two most important pages in his passport. We couldn't get one expedited in time so unfortunately he could not come with me. Bella was in time out for a good solid five minutes and had a long chat about ripping things. Curt and I were not too happy but we decided it was best that I go so we didn't compeletely waste a whole trip and a whole lotta money.
That leads me to the day prior. Curt and I were trying to have a baby but we didn't have luck the first month we tried. I really didn't think I would be pregnant but figured it is probably best to take a test before I start boozing it up in Mexico with my sister. The test was positive and i was elated! I went out with the girls to a party store bought balloons for Curt, made cute matching shirts for the girls to wear that said Big Sister #1 and Big Sister #2. Curt at first didn't even see the shirts or the balloon until he came in the kitchen and saw me holding a big baby balloon for him. Then he said "what?!" He was thrilled!
Unfortunately for me I have been sick almost every day and lost about eight pounds because of it, however I have survived! I am just happy the worst parts I hope are over and now that I am in my second trimester things will start looking up! I also hope to get my energy back and start blogging again. I have missed it but I didn't feel good and I didn't have a whole lot to say.

What have I been craving?
Steak and cheese subs
Strawberry salads with goat cheese
Olives
Pickles
Ice cream- chocolate with strawberry sauce
Fruit

May! Thank God you are here!

This past week we had sooo much rain but on Wednesday afternoon it stopped! There were too many showers in April but we have to be grateful because the grass is a beautiful shade of green now :)
Today is beautiful! The sun is shining and I feel like we are at the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

The girls are happy as can be and I feel so lucky to be their mommy. They make me laugh every day! Vivi's new word this week is "no" especially when I am trying to feed her and Bella laughs uncontrollably its so cute. Her sister is making her laugh. There is honestly no greater joy in life than to see your children laughing.
Yesterday we spent the day walking around Bethesda. We made it to the library first where we picked up new books. Bella is loving Angelina Ballerina books right now and she was also reading the Very Hungry Caterpillar to Vivi. Then we went to the park near the Giant that they love which is always full of little kids their age. Afterwards we stopped by Giant then went home for lunch and naps. In the afternoon we took out the water table and Vivi made a mess!
Bella is looking at me like "dont take a picture of me mommy but i am having fun!"
