Christmas and New Years wishes

This Christmas was not my favorite and I was soo looking forward to it. I thought everyone was going to be healthy and that was not the case. I was still getting over my cold and Bella came down with a high fever of 104° on Christmas Eve. We still don't know why she had such a high fever because she had no other symptoms. She had a fever on Christmas morning and a slight one on Christmas night. On thursday we had Curt's family come down from Pennsylvania to visit and celebrate Christmas. It was a nice visit but we were all so exhausted from long nights, shopping, cooking and preparing for Christmas plus visitors. Needless to say by Saturday we were happy to have a nice quiet home. 

Unfortunately yesterday we noticed Bella had a buldge near her groin so we took her to the doctor. Turns out she has a hernia and now she has an appointment with a doctor at children's hospital next tuesday. We will get an ultrasound and go from there. This has honestly been a pretty rough year ever since September. I am happy to say this is the last day of 2013 and I hope 2014 brings us much more joy, happiness, and health. We were lucky to move into a beautiful new home and have help from our parents this past year with the girls but Bella has been so sick that it has really been a downer and really hard on all of us. They say 13 is an unlucky number and I am starting to agree. 

Let's pray 2014 is much better!!

Weekend before Christmas

It's been awhile since I've blogged but I feel like I never have a minute to myself because the kids have been so sick. This past week I began to get sick so I went to the Dr. on Friday and she prescribed me the z-pack too! That is three out of four in our household within two weeks!! I am starting to feel better so I hope by Christmas I am 100%!

This weekend we did some Christmas shopping for the kids. We think they will have a pretty great Christmas! We alsk did a whole lot of resting at home. We only went out once as a family to the container store. Both of the girls ran around and got lots of attention while we were there afterwards we went to Baja Fresh and picked up dinner. Last night Curt and I watched a movie then went to bed....exhausted!

This morning the girls seemed much better. Thank goodness!!! I still have to take them back to the dr tomorrow for a check up but we look pretty good! 

We ate pancakes for breakfast and played in the basement. Curt ran some errands in the morning then we put the kids down for a nap. The Redskins were playing the Cowboys at naptime so I knew they were going to lose. I thought it would be so relaxing and fun if I went to the movies. This was probably the third time I went to the movies by myself and I didn't mind it at all. Sometimes it's really nice to do things on your own for a little bit. I went to see 12 Years a Slave. It was AMAZING. I cried like a baby throughout the whole movie but it was so good. It was such an eye opener. It was gruesome, sad, truthful, real and scary. It made me sad to think that I may have had family long ago who owned slaves. I think it's a film that everyone in America must see because we need to know how things really were.

I came back home to my family full of love, happiness and just being grateful to be on this earth in 2013 with my family. We are so lucky to have the things that we have today and we take them for granted...little things that are big things like our freedom. 

Sick sick sick sick sick babies

What we have been doing the past two weeks...a whole lotta nothin.'

Bella has pretty much missed school for the whole month of Decmeber and before that she missed 16 days total! Things at the Cannon household are not so bueno. I could really use a long vacation by myself right about now. Bella now has walking pneumonia but actually seems like she is doing a little better today! The Dr. changed prescriptions for her and put her on the z pack. I really hope she is doing better in a few days. It would be nice if she were healthy on Christmas.

Vivian is sick too surprise surprise. I am waiting to hear back from the dr on whether or not they will be putting her on an antibiotic. They gave her a nose culture test yesterday so we will see. She is pretty sick with a nasty cough and a nose that runs constantly. 

I am starting to feel like I am coming down with a cold too but I think my body is trying to fight it off. I feel run down at night and in the morning but pretty good throughout the day. 

Dear Lord please get us healthy! I am so tired of cold after cold after cold.

Good morning!! We lasted one day cold and runny nose free then yesterday Bella came down with a cold and a fever...ugh. It is literally never ending around here. I think I have aged this year because I never sleep!!!! Curt has been fighting off a cold for three weeks then this past weekend he came down with a bad cough and sore throat. Luckily he ran to the dr and they gave him a Z pack aaaaallalalalalala those things are the best! Luckily, I have been cold free! 

Curt most likely handed his cold down to Bella. Poor baby was coughing all night long and there's only so many things we can give her at that age. She was still full of energy this morning and all day yesterday, so much that I had to remind her to calm down and not use up so much of her energy!
